GistXL is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of The Singapore Dictionary Project on  1 October 2010.

Users can check the largest collection of bilingual terms commonly used in Singapore, suggest improvements and submit new terms to be evaluated for inclusion.

Recruitment

GistXL is currently recruiting the following positions for its Beijing and Singapore offices. Successful candidates can expect competitive remuneration and a friendly and intellectually challenging working environment.     Applications Development Engineer (.NET) (3 positions)

    Requirements:

    • Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science or relevant studies
    • Minimum 3 years working experience in .NET and C#
    • Relevant experience in Windows systems; Windows Server clustering experience will be an advantage
    • Relevant qualifications such as MCSA, MCSE or MCSD(.NET) will be an advantage

    JAVA/J2EE Developer (1 position)

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years experience in Java/J2EE/JSP/servlets
    • Able to work end to end from JSP layer till DB layer
    • Good analytical and trouble-shooting skills
    • Should have a sense of initiative and be able to work independently

    Natural Language Processing Developer (2 positions)

    Requirements:

    • Graduate degree in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related area
    • Relevant working experience in one of the following areas: Natural language processing, machine translation, machine learning, parsing systems
    • Good analytical and trouble-shooting skills
    • Should have a sense of initiative and be able to work independently

    Translator (18 positions)

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years experience in translating between English and one of the following languages: Chinese, Tamil, Malay, Indonesian, Thai, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, French, Italian, German, Spanish.
    • Specific domain knowledge relating to pharmaceuticals, law, finance and general news will be a strong advantage
    • Experience in the use of translation or corpus tools will be a strong advantage
    • Project-based work is available for non-full time positions
